What is Coronavirus? Twitter memes might make you think it's a disease you catch from bottles of Mexican lager, but one corner of the internet thinks it is a deadly bioweapon that has been made at the Institute of Virology in Wuhan.
If you're not convinced that your government is lying to you, then you have probably never even heard of GodLikeProductions, let alone spent hours/days/weeks/a large chunk of your adult life immersed in the madness of the forums. It's jam packed with board after board of paranoid rantings - but how can we be sure that what they're saying isn't true?
When I first heard about Coronavirus, I wasn't worried. And to be honest, I'm still not. It's just a cold right? That's what the MSM (mainstream media) might have us believing, but the GLP gang are adamant that this is actually a KILLER VIRUS that's escaped from a shady laboratory that specialises in bioweapons.
Remember, bioweapons aren't just used in war... they're also hypothetically the solution to the world's overpopulation problem. Eugeniucs pops up quite a lot on the Coronavirus boards, but I am more invested in the 'escaped virus' angle rather than 'shady cabal wanting to cull a huge chunk of the population for unclear but ultimately disturbing reasons'.
There are a few main elements to this theory
- Chinese government hiding how bad it is - 70,000 people really infected
- Mysterious government laboratory is at heart of the outbreak NOT the Hunan Seafood Market
- MSM/social media silencing people sharing the real details (specifically this article by econcomics blog ZeroHedge that got the outlet permanently banned from Twitter)
- Coronavirus is man-made, not an organic virus from the bat kingdom
- It is a LOT more contagious than people thought - or will admit
While most of the above have for the most part been debunked by more credible sources such as The Independent, die-hard theorists will see these reports as just another attack on the TRUTH.
But something else keeps popping up which caught my interest. People are saying that the current Global Health Emergency echoes the plot of 2011's Contagion. Even CNN - surely the enemy of the typical gun and Trump-loving GLP user - has reported on the long-forgotten sci-fi yarn's surprise climb up the iTunes chart. They muse that its resurgence in popularity reflects "how people often use fiction as a means to process reality."
WELL. The God Like Productions forums would have you believe it is the other way around.
They claim that movies and TV shows are used by TPT/the Illuminati to lay seeds in our heads so that when they sanction these things IRL we just accept it without a fight. It's a form of mental programming and mind control.
One poster writes: "An American film that was released in 2011 speaks of a Corona like virus that starts from China to spread over the rest of the world! The strangest thing is that at the end of the movie it turns out that the cause of infection is the bat, which is the same reason than the disease is currently spreading!
"Predictive programming is a subtle form of psychological conditioning provided by the media to acquaint the public with planned societal changes to be implemented by TPTB. If and when these changes are put through, the public will already be familiarized with them and will accept them as 'natural progressions', as Alan Watt (*) calls it; thus lessening any possible public resistance and commotion.
"Predictive programming therefore may be considered as a veiled form of preemptive mass manipulation or mind control, courtesy of our puppet masters."
Another adds that in the film they realise that the cure for the disease is herb called 'forsythia' - and that he has read Chinese people have been buying as much of the pretty yellow plant as possible. Is it the same disease or have they just watched Contagion recently, too?
If the film WAS put out there by the illuminati to prepare us for a global pandemic, we can look forward to looting and violence on the streets as society breaks down under the weight of the sheer panic of our fellow countrymen. Is there enough forsythia for everyone? Or is that what we'll all be fighting over? Let us know please!
