When it comes to serial killers, there are few as truly vile as Albert Fish, an American paedophile who loved to drink urine, murder kids... and shove pins in to himself to get his kicks.
The sicko committed killed at least three children between July 1924 to June 1928, but it is estimated that the total number of children he molested, raped and murdered before he was arrested aged 62 was in the hundreds.
In the way he had many victims, he also had many guises - The Gray Man, the Werewolf of Wysteria, the Brooklyn Vampire, the Moon Maniac, The Boogey Man - and similarly, he has left a multi-faceted legacy that will sicken you to your core.
One example is the x-ray shown at his 1935 trial which revealed 29 needles inserted in to his abdomen and pelvic region.
There was only one thing that thrilled Fish as much as hurting others, and that was hurting himself.
He said: “I always had a desire to inflict pain on the others and to have others inflict pain on me. I always seemed to enjoy everything that hurt. The desire to inflict pain, that is all that is uppermost.”
The positioning of the needles - which would have been stuck inside him via his gooch - the bit of flesh between a man's testicles and anus (medical term, perineum), would have caused extreme pain to insert, and also hurt him as he moved and went about his daily business.
It's thought that there might once have been more needles in him but they were dissolved over time by his body.
