Hannibal Lecter was born on January 20, which is known to astrologers as a 'cusp', an imaginary line between two signs. In his case, he was born between Capricorn and Aquarius.
Real life 'cusps', i.e. real people not characters from films, I am very aware that Hannibal Lecter is just a character from Silence of the Lambs, can find out their exact sign by looking at the precise position the Sun was in when they were born by using their birth time and place to generate their natal chart.
Sadly Hannibal's creator Thomas Harris didn't include that much detail in the book, which is why I left a scathing Amazon review and just one star.
Personally, I think he's more Capricorn than Aquarius - despite both signs having tendencies to be cold, calculating and emotionally remote.
Cosmo's army of stargazers seem to have the brain-nibbling genius all sewn up in this article.
They describe Capricorn man's personality as "cold and intimidating, even though he probably isn’t trying to, and he’s a tough nut to crack" - TICK.
But it's this sign's reputation for being fiercely ambitious and tunnel-minded about their career that really rings some bells, particularly when you think of his relationship with Clarice Starling.
"Being the most business-minded sign, a lot of the help he offers you is in the form of assisting you in career or education-related matters... once he swoops in to help out, the whole project is finished in the blink of an eye" - Hannibal helps her catch Buffalo Bill after making her jump through a few emotional hoops, TICK.
"When he’s with you, he invests a huge amount of time and energy into your own personal development so you can find success with all of your goals. No matter how big the job is, he’s ready with a plan. He’s equally as unapologetic about pushing you to achieve your best work, too!" - TICK!
Capricorn men are also meant to get better with age as they chill out a bit. Chilled out? Christ Almighty can you imagine what Lecter was like as a child?
Earlier this month we looked at Alien's Ripley - and how she's the perfect Capricorn woman. Maybe her and Hannibal could hook up? I'm sure they'd have perfectly normal, non-terrifying, non-psychotic kids...
Treat yourself to some brain-munching cinema with these titles available on Amazon...
